Last Sunday evening at the ABF at Brandon and Christina’s home we had a question and answer session about the morning sermon… hopefully you will recall I preached on The Lord’s Prayer last week, and I spent a good deal of time on the subject of forgiveness. One of the questions came from part of a quote that I read… here is part of that quote:
I forgave her and it took me a whole year and I had to forgive her in small sums over that whole twelve months. I paid those sums whenever I spoke to her and kept myself from rehashing the past.

Three weeks ago we began to study one of the most familiar passages of Scripture in all the Bible… the Lord’s Prayer. Now familiarity can be good, but there can also be a down side… it’s possible to think, “I already know this.” Knowing is one thing, but putting into practice what you know can be quite another matter. When George Washington was leaving home to begin what would become his lifelong service for his country, he wrote down the parting words of his mother, Mrs. Mary Washington: “Remember that God is our only sure trust. To Him, I commend you…my son, neglect not the duty of secret prayer.”
