I think it is wise to remind you every now and then that the chapter breaks are not inspired… many times they are helpful, but sometimes they hinder us from making a connection with what has happened in the previous chapter… and such is the case today. In chapter 3 Jesus was baptized. Immediately after the account of Jesus’ baptism, Dr. Luke then gave us a lengthy genealogy where he traced Jesus’ lineage through Mary back to Adam. In chapter 4 Dr. Luke is going to give us the details of Jesus’ wilderness temptations. I think it is a fair question to ask, “Why… why did the Holy Spirit breathe out the Scriptures in this order?” Read the rest of this entry »
